Wynn question

I know the Bellagio has the famous water fountain show. Does the Wynn have a water show too?

Gekko May 22nd, 2008 01:04 PM

In my opinion as a frequent visitor to Vegas, the Wynn is by far the best property on the Strip.

But it doesn't have fountains like the Bellagio's.

Search this forum, I remember reading a report about dancing frogs.

Give me a minute, maybe I can find it.

FainaAgain May 22nd, 2008 01:17 PM

In this report, if you scroll down to dinner, she describes Wynn and some entertainment

Faina..I saw those dancing frogs...They were on the dance floor...or, was that Brittney and Paris???

NeoPatrick May 22nd, 2008 01:48 PM

BeachBoi, I take it you didn't do well in your zoology course. There is a substantial difference between frogs and toads.

FainaAgain, thanks for the bookmark. It's not what I thought I had read. So I won't put it on my must Do list.

cruzingduo,

had a really nice dinner at daniel boloud's and watched the wynn's water show which isn't like bellagio - no dancing waters but it is spectacular too. We thouroughjly enjoyed the show and consider it a must see. i'm sure you don't need to have dinner to see it - but having the fantastic food at daniel boloud (sp?) was definitely a ++

Wynn has a gold course instead ;)

No fountain show like Bellagio but there is a water and light show inside the property you can see from the registration desk, parasoul down or the two restaurants next to parasoul down. They didn't build a free show where you can see it from outside they built it so you had to enter the property (and hopefully spend some money). The best time to watch is at night. The attraction is called, "Dreams". A spinoff of the "La Reve" show.

I do agree with Gekko that this is the best property in Las Vegas if not the world. I have stayed their atleast a dozen times. I would like to try other hotels that are opening up every year but I just can't. Wynn is my home away from home. I rarely gamble or eat there though as it is ridiculously expensive.

Love the Wynn. It is a definite notch above the Bellagio, and second the Daniel Buloud restaurant suggestion.

You can search for the Wynn on youtube and see the dancing frog show on there.

If you can't afford to eat or gamble in the Wynn then why go, why not stay at a lower cost casino, can't get my head round all this snobbery, its only a room after all!
I wouldn't give Steve Wynn a single doller of my money. He is responsible for the corporate Vegas, all the fabulous smaller casinos have been forced out, even the extraodinary Glass Bottom Pool motel was not saved. 20 years ago Las Vegas was fun, it still is but in a much more controlled way.

travelinwifey Jul 6th, 2008 04:01 PM

Not quite sure what you mean about that, Wynn has controlled Las Vegas for more than 20 years, and many believe he was the front man to buy casinos for the mob, he goes back further than that just many people didn't realize it. Right now all the casinos are owned by either Kekorian (MGM) or Harrah's. Wynn treats his employees much better than either of the other two, he recently guaranteed no layoffs with the worsening economy. MGM Mirage (which also owns the Mandalay Bay) is the strip's largest casino operator just laid off 440 people from the MGM. MGM is also building the 8 billion dollar city center. I would call MGM the evil empire, they are swallowing up property left and right therefore making hotel prices basically the same at each property. The lack of competition today is not because of Wynn but rather Harrah's (Caesar's, Paris, Rio) entertainment and Kekorian.

Wanting to stay at a nice place is snobbery?

coldplay Jul 7th, 2008 11:35 AM

Vegas was more fun when the mob openly ran Vegas. Agree about MGM though, although Kekorian was always good to his employees in the past.
