Wynn Hotel

Does anyone know when this hotel is going to open? Would like to stay here

TxTravelPro Dec 28th, 2004 03:35 PM

How do you know about this hotel WITHOUT knowing the opening is scheduled for Spring 2005.
EVERY piece of marketing is clearly marked with the opening... even the barriers in front of the hotel have the date.

The exact date targeted is April 28, 2005

For the uninformed, where perchance is this hotel?

TxTravelPro Dec 28th, 2004 03:51 PM

It's the latest, greatest in Vegas.
I do believe the hype, btw... it's gonna be great!

It's located on the former Desert Inn site, katty corner from TI and across the street from fashion show mall (I think). Basically on that end....

I loved Desert Inn - we used to play there a lot! It was so nice and "quiet" compared to all the other casinos, but small, of course.

I'm looking forward to the new casino...

They aren't taking reservations online yet - but you can call and get on their list - assuming they open on time I am looking to stay there in Mid May...

Is this on the strip? Would you stay here sight unseen instead of Bellagio?

Thanks.

Scheduled opening is April 28th. It is on the strip, right across from Fashion Show Mall. Very close to Sands Convention Center, as well as Venetian, Treasure Island .. etc. The hotel looks beautiful, and has an artifical "mountain" out front (strip side).

Yes it is on the strip, but fairly far towards downtown from the Venetian. It is not very convenient for walking to the other places -- which may be part of the idea. I think they want to keep you there as they are trying to be a total resort. Great? I'm sure? But I'd still prefer to hop around during the day and evening from hotel to hotel rather than stay in one spot. Of course you can still go to other places from there, just not as easy. If you go to Las Vegas fairly often, then I'd say do the Wynn to say you did and you may absolutely love it. But if you want to "explore" Vegas, I'd stick with Bellagio.

I got an email today stating that the reservation line is now open...
I found the location to be about the same as the Venetian, they are next door to each other.
I cannot wait to stay at this new hotel.
It WILL be awesome.

As far as which would be better - Wynn or Bellagio? - consider this - Steve Wynn made Bellagio what it is and the new resort bearing his name is his attempt at surpassing his success on Bellagio - he's competing against himself and the jewel of the Strip, which was his crowning glory - until now, that is. My bet is on Wynn- he's rarely - if ever - wrong and I can't wait for the opening.

the rooms look great online! Some pretty good rates at off times, too!
Can't wait to see the 1st review!

Wynn Hotel cost double the amount to build as Bellagio! I can't wait to see it.
