Wyndham Hotel
Has anyone stayed at the Wyndham Hotel (Downtown Boston)? We are booked to stay there and wondering if it is nice.
Thanks |
markos -- don't know about Boston location -- i have 2 different experience w/ Wydham:
1) Center City, Philly: AWFUL!!! (this could be a whole other post about how bad our (60 people) stay was...) 2) Tewksburg: really nice! I have a feeling that Wyndham varies from place to place...hope someone replies about Boston, otherwise you're taking a risk! |
Hi Markos:
I live in Boston and work very near the hotel you're inquiring about. Although I've never stayed there before, I have reserved a room there for others and have not heard of any complaints (nor raves for that matter). As far as location of the hotel, you are in the heart of the Financial District. Fanueil Hall is about 5 minutes away and Downtown Crossing (where Filene's, Macy's, Borders, and other stores are located)is about 5-7 minutes away. Have fun and welcome to Boston! |
I forgot to mention that since you're in the heart of the Financial District, most of the eating places (like Souper Salad, Rebecca's Cafe, etc) close early (as in 6 p.m. at the latest)and the downtown area is pretty empty after 6 p.m. or so. Having said that, the restaurants and stores at Fanueil Hall stay open later so you'll have stuff to do. You're not too terribly far from the North End, which has great Italian food.

i just stayed there with my 16 year old son a couple weeks ago. we reserved through priceline (a first for me) and got a room for $80/night. we had a very nice, big, corner room. not overly luxurious, but upscale for sure, roomy, comfortable and clean. staff was universally polite. concierges were helpful. as SLHogan said you're in the financial district so a lot closes at night. blue line T (aquarium stop)2 or 3 minutes away. green line stop (gov't center) about 6 or 8 minutes. you can be at the airport in 15 minutes -- very convenient. close to freedom trail and lots of things we didn't get a chance to do (we were there for red sox games). by the way if you go to the north end for dinner, try giaccomos. no reservations or credit cards and usually a line, but we had a fabulous dinner. and not expensive at all for what we had. ok, more than you asked for. hope you have a great time.

I've stayed there. I thought the rooms were great. Roomy and very comfortable and clean.

My husband and I stayed at the Wyndham on Broad street in the Financial district booked through Priceline. Very friendly staff, nice room, walk to Irish pubs, North end, and more. Dont confuse with WYndham Tremont.

We stayed at the Wyndham last year and we loved it. It's very nice and we walked everywhere! It's close to Quincey Market and wasn't too far from anything else. We are going back Labor Day weekend and staying there again.
