Wyndham Boston ?

Has anyone stayed there recently? (The Wyndham on Broad Street, not Tremont). How was it?

And I am interested in Tremont, so: opinions on both, please!

(my head is spinning already as I'm feverishly searching for a one-night budget stand... errr... stay Friday October 15)

Broad St Wyndham is a great hotel...didn't even know there was another one on Tremont.

The Wyndham Tremont is a very old hotel (the Bradford) that was renovated several years ago. It's got a wonderful and ornate lobby, but the rooms and the bathrooms can be extremely small. Also, there's a tremedously popular nightclub on the ground floor, which can either be good or bad, depending on what interests you.

The Radisson and Doubletree are both within a block or two of the Wyndham Tremont, and either one is probably a better choice in terms of room quality.

Wyndham Broad Street was very nice. It's also very close to all the downtown attractions, historical and financial districts.

Thank you clarkgriswold, djkbooks and jacie413 for your helpful comments.

I'm staying there right now, and its fine. Quiet room on the 12th floor (didn't hear any of the construction this morning that the in-room notices warn anout), room size somewhat larger than average for downtown Boston, comfortable king bed, convenient to downtown biz & attractions.

Hank54, we are scheduled to stay at the Wyndham on Broad Street next week. How far is the hotel from the nearest T stop? Thanks

wjckac - the "closest" T stop, technically, is State on the blue and orange lines (5 min walk) but if you're traveling mostly into downtown Boston, the blue and orange lines will require you to transfer to the green/red lines eventually. The green line is more frequently used and is the next closest at Government Center (7 min walk).

The quickest way I find to get to the hotel coming back from most of the rest of downtown Boston is to get off at Government Center on the green line, out of the station, go "down the stairs" leading to Quincy Market, turn right at the 7 story currently empty building right past the BosTix booth and left on State St for 1.5 blocks, right on Broad St.
