WW2 buffs out there?

Here's the deal.. I recently discovered that my aunt Violet was one of ten original pinup girls from the war.
I realize this is a travel forum, but bear with me. You are savvy on ebay and other sites, so please respond if you have good ideas to pursue the information:).
I did post on a pilot's forum as well. I think the folks on this board have a wealth of knowledge, so thought it wouldn't hurt on a rainy Saturday(Alaska). My two boys would be tickled to find info. about their great aunt, as they are military inclined too.
Thanks for any leads, J.

Rainy Alaska cozy sounds really good from the 87 F. HOT SF Bay Area!!
Jetset, what a challenge!!! Check this site--many pinup girls' names listed, but mostly actresses of the time. No "Violet" unless she used a different professional name?

re: WWII, I'm now reading Scott Turow's "Ordinary Heroes" Highly recommended.

CaliNurse, thanks so much for your reply. She was an actress too, and engaged to a pilot who never made it back.
So I'll explore your lead and hope the other forum I found will supply some help as well. Take care, J.

Was she in any films of the 40s?
My husband is a 40s film buff and has a database of about 10,000 actors and actresses. She could be in the database even if she made an appearance in only one film. Could she have used another name?

mlw~ I believe she used her mother's maiden name, Nicholson. I am checking with my sister and will report back asap. Thanks for your help, J.

mlw~Just found out she went by Mary Nicholson. Thanks again, J.

Sorry JetSet1, we could not find her in the datebase...but don't give up. Sounds like an interesting piece of family history.

mlw~ I have some new links thanks to a neighbor, and I have been pursuing other leads too. It's a fun project in any case.
Geneology interested me for a long time and it's amazing how helpful people on the message boards are. I have the five disc Family Tree Maker currently.
My eleven year old is really hoping we find his great aunt's photo somewhere. Thanks again, J.
