Would you tip a concierge for this?

While we are out to dinner, I wanted a dozen roses brought up to our room to surprise my wife with when we got back.

How much would you tip for this?

Would I even go to the concierge for this or just check at the front desk?

You don't say what hotel you are staying at but that is the perfect example of what a good concierge can do for you. I certainly would use him/her for that service. Tip the concierge $5 to $10US.

It would be at least a 4 star resort type hotel.

Separately, how would I pay for the roses and delivery?

Would the concierge do everything and just make sure it appears on my hotel bill? So I wouldn't have to do anything? (In which case, the tip would be justified).

Would I order the flowers myself and have it delivered to the concierge for delivery to my room? In which case, he's not doing much other than delivering it.

<<Would the concierge do everything and just make sure it appears on my hotel bill?>> Yes.

<<So I wouldn't have to do anything?>> Exactly.

Do make sure your tip also covers the tip the concierge will give the flower delivery person.

Thanks Bardo.

Never thought about the tip to the delivery person.
