Just make sure it is legal. The City has made most of those places illegal to rent.

And how would I go about finding out if this is legal?

Truman Annex is in the middle of a legal battle about rentals. Just a couple of weeks ago the City Commission passed a law that would require anyone who was going to rent their place out short term would be required to have a license. It is a very complicated deal. As far as the places you are looking at, it all depends on the actual place as they are all privately owned and decorated and maintained.

Just ask.

It is not as simple as asking. Any owner w/o the proper permit will probably tell you not to worry or they have it. There are some legal ones within Truman Annex. I suppose you could call the City and ask if any of the ones you are comsidering are O.K.

I really enjoyed staying at a Shipyard Unit last summer.

My favorite part of the Annex is the Harbour Place condos. Very nice with a view of the harbor and the sunsets. Pricey but worth it, IMHO.

Have a blast!!
