Would you stay at Harrah's??

We were wondering if it is a classy casino/hotel?? Is it like Mandalay>>? we are going in Dec. please help!

Harrah's is a joke compared to theREAL hotels!! I would rate it 1 star, maybe 2... It wasn;t upscale or classy... People were complete snobs at front desk.. god only knows why!! look at the place!! lmao

While Harrah's is not in the same category as Mandalay Bay, it is a good-value hotel in a good location. The biggest drawback is the pool area, which stinks - but that wouldn't be an issue for you if you're going in December.

It really depends what you're looking for - Mandalay Bay will be significantly more expensive than Harrah's but also is significantly nicer.

Yes, IF you got a good price.

I stayed there about 3 weeks ago...

A completely adequate hotel, but it is NOT Mandalay Bay. The location is excellent, although we spend a litte more time in the Paris/Aladdin area then the Mirage/Caesar area.

If the rate was right i'd stay there again (we paid $89/nite for weekend rates). A great property better than Harrah's but a step below MB is Mirage! I wouldn't stay at MB simply due to location.

Along the same prices of Harrah's, look into the Flamingo and Bally's.
I go to Vegas every December and always stay at Harrah's, Bally's or Flamingo. The location is far better IMO. As others have said this is not the same class of hotel as the Mandalay but it depends on what you want. I have had a suite at Harrah's which was just as nice if not better than suites at the "nicer" hotels- not including Bellagio. I personally find the staff at Harrah's much nicer- both hotel and casino- than the other places. I love being able to walk next store to the Venetian and across the street to Ceasars, mirage, Bellagio.

I've been to Vegas 6 times and the first time I went I stayed at Harrah's.

It's nowhere near Mandalay, Venetian, Bellagio, etc. in terms of "class". It's outdated and feels like it.

However, it is in a good location on The Strip.

I agree Dave..... it is very outdated. We were there in 5/01 and it was kind of musty in the lobby...and the rooms were older...... they need some major renovations!!!!

Rio used to be a really fun and pretty nice hotel.
Then Harrah's took it over and it's been going downhill ever since.
Harrah's is all about hardcore gaming revenues and not at all about the Las Vegas fun experience.

I used to know someone who worked for Harrah/s.. They think they are all that! they arent; Bellagio blows them away... They look at the smaller casinos as sh*t..as if they are the Venetian??or something...NOT@@ they are a bunch of pompous jerks..and I couldnt stand the HR manager when I applied.. with my friend who already worked there.... she looked down at me....what a b***tch.. Hopefully she is laid off or got fired.. What a smart ass nasty attitude.. She is a nobody!!!!
