Would you rather stay at Aston Crowne Plaza or Ritz Carleton at New Orleans

Hi,

We are going to NO in October for first visit. Do you think the Ritz is that much nicer than Aston Crowne? There is about $450 difference in cost?

Any other suggestions? These are always so helpful for first-time visitors to a new city.

Thanks

Is there any particular reason you're limited to those two? The Ritz doesn't get the great reviews it does in most other cities, and both hotels are on Canal. October is a really busy month in NO, so it might be difficult to book reservations, but I'd suggest you look into the Royal Sonesta - a room overlooking the pool/courtyard rather than Bourbon Street.

We stayed at the Astor 2 yrs ago during the end of their remodel.

Nice, clean, big, generic rooms. Great location on Canal and Bourbon. We'd go back.

Are you saying the RC is $450 more than the Astor??? If so, my carcass is at the Astor. Good restaurant there too.

Personally, I would prefer staying right in the French Quarter.

I stayed at the W hotel near Harrah's casino and it was very nice. I beleive they also have a W in the French Quarter. The W hotels have that "heavenly bed" and it so comfortable and reasonable in price.
