Would u stay at FS or Grand Wailea, Maui for $300 difference

if we stay at FS, it would cost us $2450 include the breakfast, car and 5 nights. GW is for 6 nights include car and 6 nights for 2150. Which resort do you think we should choose? 5 nights vs 6 nights We have no kids.

I think the Grand Wailea is great for families but pretty loud and chaotic without the need to keep kids entertained. The Four Seasons is nice, Ahhnold was staying there when we were next door at the Fairmont last spring.

$300 difference over 5 nights???? In a heartbeat! Including breakfast? Definitely.

Using only the math, the answer is simple : GWR.
Using your vacation objectives may cloud the decision-making process.
Time of year also will impact the decision.

For example, if you are going after school starts in September, then the kids at the pool issue is largely moot.

For example, if you have no kids, but like kids; and are visiting before school resumes in September...

We were at the GWR in October w/o our children and had an excellent stay. We're a mid-30s, active, moderately traveled couple of blended heritage. The only fault I posted here was the tiled exterior hallways make the service carts loud as they pass the door of the rooms of the GWR earlier than I prefer.

We wandered over to all the neighboring hotels in Wailea and had meals and toured their grounds and felt we were in the right place at the Grand Wailea Resort. Some people feel that the FS has greater security for the celebs who visit. Whatever.

Wherever you stay, I recommend that you visit the island restaurant for dinner at GWR with the really long name that everyone forgets. (Humuhumunukunukuapua'a) There will be few kids there - if that's your goal.

Friends just returned from the 4S Maui and I enjoyed a fabulous trip at the 4S BI two years ago. I'd rather spend 5 nights at the 4S with breakfast than 6 at the GW without - but that's just a personal preference. If I wanted 6 nights I'd probably do a night in Hana or another island (and have done so) but I personally would choose the 4S.

What a great decision to make! Aloha!

Would also choose FS. We stayed there for our honeymoon and it was phenomenal. GW was nice and if I was going tomorrow with my three kids I'd probably stay there. Which, is you want to avoid lots of kids, is a good reason for you to pick 4S!
