World War II era planes

Has anyone ever flown in one? Is it worth rather expensive cost? I'm talking about a <BR>B-17 or B-24. Thanks so much

I think some of the US major carriers still fly them!!

A guy I worked with flew in a B-17 a couple of years ago. If memory serves, it was around $350. He said it was a great experience and was well-worth the investment.

The Confederate Air Force tours the country with different WWII era planes. One group was in Colorado last fall giving rides in a B-24 but were grounded for the remainder of the stay due to 9/11. You could still tour the insides of the planes (they also had a flyable B-29 Superfortress). You might check their website to see if they will be near you anytime soon.

I think an open cockpit biplane would be a heck of a lot more fun! My husband who flew (and crashed) in bombers says they're not so great.

Had a friend take the ride a couple of years ago. He thought it was great and worth the cost.
