Woodlands Inn in Wilkes-Barre is nothing like their website suggests. It's in a very built-up commercial area -- when we were there last summer we were quite disappointed in the service, amenities, maintenance and food service. We checked in around 3 pm on a Sunday and had no towels in our room until after 6, even though we made 3 phone calls and a trip to the front desk. Apparently they were busy on the weekend and couldn't keep up with the laundry demands.
The hall carpet was in the process of being cleaned outside our room and not only did we have to trip over large hoses we couldn't use our wheeled luggage in the hallways. Forget having a nap after a 6 hr. drive.
There were two large functions that evening and the music and revelry carried clearly to the "creekside" rooms -- well after midnight. We were told that section was the quietest area!
The staff was very pleasant and did offer us a discounted rate for our inconvenience, but I still would not return or recommend this property.
