Wonderful, romantic inn MA or RI coast, end February?
 

through this board, I took my wife to Castle Hill in Newport last winter; would like to repeat...so I'm looking for another romantic, right-at-the-surf inn. Prerequisites: great fish, fireplace, good bar, space to read, wireless. TIA!

There is certainly no place here in Nantucket that meets all your criteria at that time of year.

yes, this is the end of February...definitely off-season but my wife's winter break and just before her birthday. I'll check the Globe! many thanks.

How about the Chanler in newport. It doesn't get much better than that. It's crazy expensive in season but i bet you could get a good rate/package in February.

Well, if 2 minutes from the surf is ok you might try Alyce's Dunscroft in Harwichport, MA

...or Chatham Bars or Wequassett in Chatham MA

Take a look on line at the White Barn Inn in Kennebunkport ... Not sure it will meet all your prerequisites but it is one incredible inn .... www.whitebarninn.com ... The food is absolutely fabulous .. they have a wonderful spa ... private cottages on the water ... for sure very pricey .. as the others that are mentioned in the previous post .. Chatham Bars or Wequassett .. truly lovely as well .. but I would have to say .. White Barn Inn .. outstanding !

I would also recommed the Wequasset Inn in Chatham. Rooms are spacious and have fireplaces, and the Chatham area has lot of great restaurants.

Wequasset is wonderful. I much prefer it to chatham bars inn.
