wollman rink

is the rink decorated for xmas ( a la bryant park, rock centre, etc). we'd like to go night skating if there are a lot of lights, lighted trees etc ( we'll be there dec 6-10th). it's hard to tell from the pics i've seen. thanks

Yes - there are lights - or you couldn't skate at night. but not nearly as decorated as Rock Center rink - which is a holiday wonderland. And do realize that Central Park is not a groomed city park -a lot is ungroomed woodland and the park is huge. Check out the website of the Central Park Conservancy.

yes, i've been to the park several times, just not the wollman rink, and not at christmas. i just wondered if there were many trees with lights, xmas music, etc.

I think the views from Wollman Rink are amazing! Central Park South is so beautiful! And it will not be as crowded as RC or BP.

If you google Wollman Rink at Christmas, and click on "Images", you'll see pictures of it at night (although not necessarily Christmas). The lights of the city are enough!
