Wknd getaway within 2 hours of Denver
Hubs and I have a free weekend in Septemeber to spend in or around Denver. We'd love to take in some amazing views, hike a little, sip on some craft brews/wine, and hear some live music. Any suggestions? We've been to Boulder recently so maybe somewhere different. Thanks for your help!

Do you live in Denver?
I'd go to the mountains. |
Breckinridge would work well for you.

<<Breckinridge would work well for you.>>
And the whole area in and around it. |
You might google to see who has live music for your dates. Check Winter Park, Steamboat, Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen. . ..
|
A two hour arc from Denver would put you around Avon (Beaver Creek) on I-70.
|
Two hours is more than enough time to get to Winter Park, also.

We will be in Denver during the week for a conference. Looking to spend the weekend in a cabin or something outside of Denver. We're visiting from Austin, and usually go to Nederland in March, but wasn't sure what cute-sy little town to stay in during September. Thanks for the suggestions, I've never been to Steamboat and heard great things!

I think Breckenridge would be more interesting--deeper into the mountains and more to do in the area. You can go on and visit Vail for lunch or something like that.
|
Breckenridge/Frisco area would work for you very well. Breck and Frisco would mostly condos If looking for a cabin in the woods, look south of Breckenridge along the Blue river. Lots of single family homes, big cabins, etc.
Who goes to Nederland in March? Must have family there. |
Thanks! We actually have been several time for the Frozen Dead Guy Days. It's a ton of fun.
|
September is a great time of year but the weather can be iffy. There are a number of concerts during the month at Red Rocks, which would be great.
