With Kids in Ogunquit Maine?
We are driving along the coast of maine in mid-june and will have one day in Ogunquit.

I wondered what the best local activities might be for the kids (ages 11 and 9)? Also, can anyone suggest an inexpensive, centrally located motel or inn? Thanks very much.

Ogunquit is not inexpensive in June, but your kids would certainly love the pool at the Ogunquit motel. check it out at
www.ogunquitmotel.com Can you believe the size of that thing????

N'er Beach Motel, just up the road in Wells, is decent and less expensive. Be sure to try Paras Pizza in the Wells Plaza , and for breakfast head over to the famous Maine Diner.

All this is right on route 1.

We stayed once at the Cliff House but that was kind of pricey. I sure you can find nice inexpensive lodging - there are many choices...
The Marginal Way walk might be fun - it's a narrow paved footpath that winds along the side of the cliffs above the beach. Don't worry, it's much safer than it sounds! Lots of people of all ages enjoy this walk.

Have you thought about scraping Maine and heading to Disneyworld?

We stayed at the Juniper Hill Motel, very clean, indoor & outdoor pool. Close enough to walk into town and the beach. Not to expensive. We don't have any children yet, but it didn't look to me to have a whole lot of kid-oriented things to do (besides the beach).
