Wisconsin Trip

My wife and I are going to fly into Milwaukee and do a road trip going from Milwaukee to Green Bay to Madison to Milwaukee. We will see and do things in between these cities, these are just the main places. We have ideas on what we want to do but I wanted to see what locals and past visitors suggest. A

Are there any types of food/dishes that are considered Wisonsin?

Wisconsin is full of local harvest festivals, check your dates against some of those towns visitor websites. The Packers have a Training camp where you can watch as they practice certain days. There is Pine Crest Village and dairy half way to Green Bay. There is a Maritime Museum in Manitowoc too. Best German restaraunts will be in Milwaukee and Madison

I see cherries are big in Door County. Are there any orchards, markets, etc. closer to Green Bay that we can get local cherries? I have found some places online but they are around Fish Creek area.

My local grocer in Chicagoland sells WI cherries, but you can easily fit a Door County detour in your plans. Traffic is pretty light and you can pick your own cherries.

Anyone know of a place that gives a cheese making tour in these areas?

Was not sure about fitting Fish Creek in as it looks to be about 1 hour 45 minutes from Green Bay.

Monroe is a cheese town a little bit SW of Madison.

Regarding the cherries, I was aiming for a place that allows you to pick your own. If we can;t do that, then we would settle for just buying some from a market. Sorry!

A famous cheesemaker in the area with cheese museum and tour is Hennings. Ive had their cheese, and know the family is active in various charities throughout the Midwest.
