Wisconsin Dells, Lake Geneva or Door county for a family vacation?

We are planing to take our family of 6 adults and 3 children to Wisconsin this summer.
We would prefer a resort or hotel by the water with a pool. We want to gear this vacation for the kids ages 5, 3 and 8 months. We'd love some ideas for a fun family vacation.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance! Natalie

Our kids are very young , can you recommend a resort or hotel close to the water?

Last summer we stayed in two places you mentioned-- Door Co and Wisconsin Dells with our extended family. One night and most of two days at a water park in Wisconsin Dells (enough time) and three nights in Door Co (not enough time). We liked both places and both had lots to offer.

At the Dells the water parks have things to do for all ages, so you can't go wrong. It's fun, often hectic, but kids love it. In Door Co, we stayed at a great place just outside Egg Harbor--a family friendly resort (The Shallows) on the Green Bay side, right on the water. I highly recommend it, and we'd stay there again. It had a variety of types of accommodations. We booked two, one bedroom units in one of the "Gatehouses". Our grandson loved kayaking in the "shallow" water right offshore as well as swimming in the pool. I think it might work for the ages of your grandchildren. With our short stay we really didn't have enough time to see much of Door Co, so I'd recommend four or five nights at the very least.
