We are traveling from Mankato Minnesota to Door county and Port Washington in a few weeks. Any places on must see llist or nice food places This is the 3rd time weve planned to go but have had to cancel.. Im from Australia so whilst Ive beem to US lots I havent been to this area.

Door County is more of a Chicago getaway, but I have been a few times so some limited recommendations:

I visited the Door Peninsula once and enjoyed it. Very scenic. There is the Cana Island Lighthouse and Ephraim which was founded in 1853 by Moravian settlers (several original buildings remain). You can ride bikes in Peninsula State Park.

Door County is a wonderful getaway for everyone. Some of our favorites are Wild Tomato Pizza https://wildtomatopizza.com/ in Sister Bay and Fish Creek. Also Bayside Tavern https://baysidetavern.com/ in Fish Creek. If you enjoy hiking, any of the state parks, county parks and the Ridges. Be sure to check out Cave Point. Also Washington Island and Rock Island are fun excursions.
