Winter Park lodging
Has anyone stayed at the Silverado II in Winter Park. We are looking for resort type lodging with an indoor pool that you can get to without going outdoors. We will stay six nights and ski maybe four or five days. Any suggestions for other "don't miss" activities?
chris - can't help you w/ the Silverado, sorry. Re: activities - just before Frasier, the town a couple miles past the ski resort theres an area for tubing (with a little rope tow) and also these little ski doos (don't know what they're really called) They are similiar to a go-cart for the snow. They have a track laid out and if you get stuck you can lift them up and put them right back on the track. (No they are not snowmobiles)There's also snowmobile tours at the same place. We also like to pack a lunch and some wine and go snowshoeing/xcountry skiing in a more remote area. The ski shops will rent you the equipment and can point you in the right direction. Let me know if you need info on Colo - i'm in Vail. b

We were at Winter Park last year in a house we rented called the "Round House" absolutly beautiful!!!! HUGE house , outdoor jacuzzi, 2 fireplaces, 5 bedrooms, ping pong table, too much to describe. There were 6 couples that went so I can't say I remember how much. But, we rented it through the Super 8 in town. The barn sleigh ride w/dinner was very nice but don't go if you are allergic to hay or horses (trust me, I found out the hard way!)

We will need a condo for 5 over President's Day in February and are considering renting direct from owners at one of the following: Meadowridge, Beaver Village, Snowblaze or Silverado II. I know where Meadowridge is located in Fraser and Beaver Village and Snowblaze in Winter Park. Anyone know where Silverado II is? Anyone stayed at any of these and recommend for/against one? How much of a hassle is it staying in Fraser?

Silverado II is part of RTC time shares. Standard condos, nothing special, but comfortable. Downtwon Winter Park. You need a car for Fraser. Winter Park is not much on nightlife, but has great sking.

Hi Chris,
Bonnie Rozean here from the Grand County Colorado Tourism Board. Don't know if you've been lucky enough yet to escape to Grand County (Winter Park) and I'm not wanting to commercialize this forum. You might want to check out our site though for lodging info, Specials & Packages, and our calendar of events. Please let me know directly if there is anyone locally I can put you in direct contact with.

Thanks,

Bonnie Rozean
Administrator
Grand County Colorado Tourism Board
http://www.grand-county.com
