wineries in Washington near Portland

I will be in Portland for 3-4 days. I'm interested in visiting wineries and would love to go to some with fabulous cabernets and merlots. I know Oregon is more known for pinot, so I thought I'd go to Washington. Are there some great wineries close by so I don't spend all my time driving? I would also like to see Multnomah Falls. Not opposed to also going to a few top pinot wineries in Oregon if I can do both sides in 2-3 days. Any advice from wine lovers out there?

Maryhill Winery is nice- I am not a wine expert but I enjoyed- plus they have a place for lunch overlooking the river and they have concerts some evenings ( check out their schedule)

I think the wineries closest to Portland are along hwy99 and the McMinville area. Put the words 'mcMinville wineries' in a Google search and listing and map pops up.
