Wine on the beach???
I am headed to the Oregon Coast next month, wanted to do a picnic of cheese and wine on a scenic lookout or beach. Is this allowed in Oregon?? Some beaches here in Florida allow it while others do not allow open containers of alchol. Thanks in advance!

Where are you staying on the Oregon Coast? Here in Seaside where I am we love having picnics at Ave U, there are a couple of tables there right by the The Tides and one over at the Cove which is our favorite. Nice public restrooms right across the street, also. We also enjoy going to Ecola State Park for picnics, here you will have gorgeous views of Haystack Rock and the ocean. Looks like we may get a little rain today! ***kim*** ((#))

Sometimes when I go to the beach- my favorite being Devils Elbow State Park (Oregon)- I will stop in Florence and get fresh crab cocktail to go, sit on the beach and drink wine and eat crab- not a bad way to spend the day.

Kim..we are starting our coastal journey at Tillamook and heading south for a few days, then back north ending in Cannon Beach as our final coastal stop before heading back to seattle for our flight.
sunbum...that sounds delightful. Is Devils Elbow State Park north or south of Florence. We may have to do as you said :) |
Devils Elbow State Park is north of Florence - thats where you will find the Heceta Head Lighthouse-
If you want to splurge, the inn keepers house is a B&B and very fun to stay at- I did a trip report about it- you can check the report for details |
thanks sunbum!
