Wine Country Trip Report
Quick weekend to Napa/Sonoma wine country.
Sat. June 28
Woodland CA to St. Helena via 128 Lake Berryessa. Windy road but nice scenery.
Lunch at Taylor's Refresher in St. Helena- wonderful as always.
Not too crowded this weekend - the smoke & gas prices have probably kept people away.
Strolled the Square in Healdsburg - some charming side streets. Had a gelato.
Perfect weather - about 80 degrees.
Thru Dry Creek area - stopped at Passalaqua Winery - pretty place but the wines were nothing special.
Checked into Geyeserville Inn - Best Western. $190 incl tax from Hotels.com. Pleasant room, clean, nice linens. About 1 block from 101 - got a quiet room in the back.
Had a wonderful Italian dinner at Venti in Geyserville. Sat at the bar & had spagettenini ala Calabrese - excellent.
Breakfast next to motel at "Hoffman House". Too expensive for what we got.
Drove back same route.
All in all a lovely get away.

Thanks for the report cobbie--- sounds like a good weekend. How long was the drive on 128?
I noticed that you stopped at Taylor's Refresher. I double-checked to see if we included it in our guide and we do. If you'd like to leave your own review you are welcome to; we don't have one from a member at the moment.

Hi Faina - I'm sure Kal will have lots to say.
Katie - the ride from Woodland to Geyserville is 2 hours.
I posted my thoughts on Taylor's - "Never disappointed". I've been going there for 6 years & everything I've ever had is fabulous. They even serve wine.

FAINA!!! beeee-have
Cobbs...when were you at Taylor's on Sat?
A friend and I came down on Sat on a "Mission of Mercy" and hit Rombauer's then cut across by the CIA then we were going to hit Taylor's then go to the Napa Valley Olive Oil Manf Co, located right down the street behind Tre Vigne, but MANNNN, the place was packed and the line was about 30ft long. Good for them-Bad for us.
We were there around 1-ish.
We went down to Yountville and had a very good (as usual) lunch at Hurley's out on the patio.

Kal - We were at Taylor's right around noon. Would've been a HOOT to see you there.
I love that Olive Oil store. I probably should have stopped even though I don't need any now.
Linda - you are absolutely right about the name being Santi. I highly recommend it.
