wine country-need help
We are going for 2 nights on Oct. 29th and 30th. I need to find a place to stay.
I would like somwhere that we could walk to a town/winery/tastings in the day/evenings. We will have a car, but still think I want somewhere near a town. Which town? Sonoma Plaza? Healdsburg? Yountville? Napa? I also want nice, clean, I would like a jacuzzi on pr |
jacuzzi on property, or in room. I would like it to include breakfast. I am picky about cleanliness. I think afternoon/evening wine and cheese would be great. I like history, but need the lodging to be modern with private baths, etc.
Any ideas? Thinking of the Inn at |

We just got back from a long weekend. stayed in Sonoma at the Renaissance Lodge in a cottage room - nice space, jacuzzi in room, fireplace (which could be very nice in late October). Easy access to wineries. You can't walk to town from there but they do have a free shuttle. We did a bit of driving - mud baths in calistoga followed by wineries the first day and then hired a limo for 5 hours the second day and saw 5 wineries with no problems. check out my trip report for more info. if this is your first time, you may want to do some of the larger places like Mondavi, Sterling, etc. We did the Silverado trail as much as possible this trip to avoid traffic. Another trip had us at Benzinger, Ferrari Carrano, Kunde, Chateau St Jean. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

The Calderwood in Healdsburg has a room with a jacuzi tub. http://www.calderwoodinn.com/ Very clean and wonderful breakfast. Walk to downtown Healsburg. Dry Creek/Alexander Valley/Russian River Wineries are my favorite.
