Windward Isle Cottage in Key West
 

Does anyone have any feed back on the above cottage at 531 Olivia Street? They do have a transient license, there are 4 of us staying 4 nights in May, can't wait.

Sorry, never heard of it but Olivia Street is one of those streets that seems to have some pretty seedy blocks. As far as the transient license goes I know it is a big deal down there. Don't risk it. Call them directly and simply ask.

It's good that you checked into their license - otherwise your trip may've been cut short. I know nothing of this property but looked at the website and it looks fine. It's near Duval, but not on the side of Bahama Village, which is good. I didn't see any mention of air conditioning and in May that may be a problem, but I'm more used to AC than lots of people. Key West is wonderful...have fun!!

I'm not in Key West now, though we spend at least a month there each year. I wouldn't worry about this being a "seedy" location. It's only a block or so from Duval and Truman, which are the two busiest streets in Old Town. Truman has several really nice B&Bs and Duval is very well-populated with restaurants and shops.

Key West is a very old town, and since not all the property has been renovated, it's not uncommon to see a rather shabby looking house next to one that looks sensational. Mind you, the "shabby" houses in Key West sell for millions of dollars! Don't worry!!
