Winchester Mystery House, San Jose

I'm going to be in San Jose on business and am interested in seeing the Winchester house and grounds, but don't think I can do both on the same day. Is the grounds tour free? How long will it take?

Thanks for any input!

Unless you are in a wheelchair - you have to pay to tour the grounds along w/ the house. The house is not wheelchair accessible so disabled visitors can visit the gardens w/o charge. Everyone else has to pay.

The inside tour only took about an hour. Give yourself 2-4 hours (depending how much you want to sit and relax on the grounds) and you can see it all.

Make sure to pick up one of the tourist booklets to get $2 off discount.

JanisJ, are you coming to the GTG on November 10?

faina: Not sure. So much going on (remodeling the home mom has lived in for 45 years preparing to sell it, remodeling the house next door to me where she has moved in, dealing w/ all the contractors, deliveries, etc. and lots of upcoming programs.) hopefully things will have calmed down a bit by then . . . . . . (can only hope :) )
