Wilmington, NC Soccer Weekend

Going to Wilmington, NC for a girls soccer tournament May 21-22. Anything exciting to see and do with 14 year old girls team? Good place for team dinner sat or sun night (40 to 50 people)

Thanks!

Wilmington has ALL the national chain restaurants, especially between Route 17 and the beaches. For fine dining, there's Elijah's by the waterfront and Grouper Nancy's. Others include Pilot House, Hieronymus, Oceanic, Rockits, Water Street and Roy's River Boat Landing. If a budget is important, try El Vaquero for Mexican, Panda Chinese for Chinese and Taste of Italy for Italian. In Wrightsville Beach, there's Beached Whale Cafe, Beaches, Blockade Runner, King Neptune's, Olympia and Etrusca Ristorante.

Places to see for young ladies- Orton Plantation with its colorful garden, the battleship NORTH CAROLINA, the NC Aquarium near Fort Fisher and Fort Fisher itself. As the weather is likely to be warm, the girls would probably like to go to the beach and the water will likely be swimable. If you have transportation, you might even try Topsail Beach a half an hour up the coast and probably have the beach all for yourselves.

Thanks, Shane! I heard that they had filmed some TV shows (Dawson's Creek?) and some movies in the area. Do you know if that's true and if there is anything worth seeing there?

Thanks!

Wilmington and vicinity has dabbled with the film community though I couldn't tell you what movies have been filmed there. I have heard that part of Dawson's Creek have been filmed in Wilmington but I have no way to verify that.
