Williamsburg Thanksgiving
I'm planning a trip for a group of 6 to Williamsburg for Thanksgiving, and we're too late for dinner at the Taverns. Any suggestions where else to go for a Thanksgiving dinner?

The Jefferson, on Richmond Rd; if it is open - and I'm sure they would be. Nice restaurant for beef & seafood, so I'll bet they do a nice Thanksgiving too.
Don't laugh - but we were on the road one year and stopped at a Cracker Barrel (there is one on Bypass Rd, not the one we stopped at) and it was pretty darn good. |
My husband & I were members of the Northwest Territory Alliance when we lived in Illinois. We now use our 18th century clothing at holiday times (Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year's Eve) when we do an 18th century frontier dinner and serve it wearing our period clothing here in West Virginia.
Sorry you cannot get dinner at one of the taverns in Williamsburg. That would have been super special. |
The Regency Dining Room at the Williamsburg Inn would surely be a memorable experience. I can't imagine a more perfect place to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

We were in Williamsburg in September last and had some nice dinners at: The trellis restaurant and Seasons.Paul

The Kitchen at Powhatan Plantation, kitchenatpowhatan.com, has a very colonial feel, costumed wait staff etc and a reputation for good food. I haven't been in years. I don't know if they will be serving at Thanksgiving. Kingsmill Resort, kingsmillresort.com, usually has a special menu in the lovely dining room overlooking the river. Call and ask about Thanksgiving in the Bray Room.
