williamsburg restaurants
My wife and I are going to be in Williamsburg the week of Aug 12th. Can anyone recommend a good seafood house? We have heard mixed reviews about the Trellis, so any other suggestions would also be more than welcome.

Berrett's in Williamsburg, or Nick's Seafood Pavillion in Yorktown. I have liked the Trellis very much for lunch, but it is overrated--though not awful--for dinner. And of course, it isn't a seafood house...

Try the Whaling Co. on rt 60 near Busch Gardens. It looks very touristy but it has a large menu of fresh seafood. Everyone we send there loves it. Two blocks down, also on Rt. 60 is New England Seafood. A new place. It is spartanly decorated but the meals we had there last week were good. For an adventure drive over to Gloucester ( 30 min away) to River's Inn. Great food in a lovely setting.

I tried New England Seafood last week for lunch. Won't go back. It's hard to spend that much money for bad food in Wmburg.

Other suggestions offered are good ones. Depends on the atmosphere you're looking for.

Not exclusively seafood but you might consider the Dining Room at Fords Colony.

Nicks' doors are shut, forever. In fact, Yorktown is considering bulldozing it down for a parking lot.

Berritts, Whaling Co. - good choices!
