Williamsburg in late March - weather?

Is the weather going to be OK in the last week of March to go to Colonial Williamsburg?

hahahaha
Great question. If anyone could answer that, they wouldn't be posting here, that is for sure.

Could be lovely. Could be cold and rainy.

I guess I should have asked what is typical weather for that time of year. I live in Florida so I am not familiar with the area.

You can look at www.weather.com or www.wunderground.com to get historical averages. I am sure you have heard "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb."

Then close to the trip, you check the weather throughout March to find out if it is a nice early Spring or if the lion is holding on.

Seriously...the end of March is likely to be better than earlier in the month, but it is really hard to predict. You will have a greater chance of great weather in April, though. But if end of March works best for you, just do it.

I used to live in the area, and it really is very changeable at that time of year. I remember snow flurries early one March; granted, that was unusual! For planning purposes, start checking the online forecasts 2-3 weeks out. Figure on bringing a jacket, and be prepared for at least a light rain.

Sorry, Mike, we really can't tell you. My wedding anniversary is March 21st. We were married on a beautiful sunny day in Williamsburg with temps in the high 60's. The next year there were snow flurries. Just bring layers.

It's true that it's hard to predict. You may get lucky and have some nice sunny weather. But the chances are better that it will be fairly cold, and if you do get a warm sunny day, it will still be cold at night. And if it turns out to be cloudy and wet, it won't be particularly pleasant.
