It will be hot and humid so bring cool clothes. You can easily spend 2 days in Colonial W/Burg and then I would go to the the other historical villages/plantation-Jamestown is one, and I cant remember, but I think there is still another one. W/burg has a cute downtown area with stores and restaruants, near William and Mary, and William and Mary is a beautiful college to wander about. Combined, you could spend a morning or afternoon doing those. There are several good outlet malls in Williamsburg if you like shopping and there is a huge pottery store, that has way more than pottery that is fun to visit. Last time I was there there was also a water park/go kart place out towards the malls and pottery place that was fun for kids.

I suppose you could consider spending one day at Busch Gardens.

I don't know how old your kids are but the Virginia Aquarium would be good for younger kids, they also have dolphin/whale watching cruises that the entire family would enjoy.

Do a search under Williamsburg and then let us know the ages and interests of those traveling with you. We could go on for pages without some direction.
Just as a start, Williamsburg: Busch Gardens Water Country Jamestown (both of them) Yorktown (both of them) Colonial Williamsburg (of course) etc. etc Virginia Beach Aquarium Nauticus in Norfolk First landing state park etc etc |
