Wildfires affecting Yosemite?

Does anyone have any info on whether the current California wildfires are affecting Yosemite? We're booked for 3 nights at the Ahwahnee at the end of July. We're also booked in Monterrey for 2 nights so I'm also concerned about the Big Sur fires. My wife has athsma and I'm worried that the fires may affect our plans.
Thanks

The Yosemite website offers links to climate and air quality information. Look under "current conditions", then webcams.

Here's the one you need:

"Barbara" gave you some great websites to check up-to-the-minute conditions in Yosemite. Things could change a lot between now and when you go to Yosemite and Monterey in late July. The smoky conditions from the current fires will hopefully be long gone by the time you arrive.

Hard to say what it will be like the end of July, even hard to say about tommorrow.

As of today, in the central valley the smoke is very light and even when it was very dark it did not smell that bad. You could feel it in your throat and lungs a little but it did not smell very strong.

I was in Yosemite from July 2nd to 5th. The fire in Big Sur really wasn't affecting Yosemite as far as I could tell. From the higher elevations you could see a slight haze of smoke in the distance, but it didn't really deter from the views.

It does seem to be affected today. The air quality monitor for Yosemite says "moderately hazardous".

Yes, indeed. The ozone is a high moderate in the low-mid 70s ppb and the particulate matter, which will come from fires and is measured in Yosemite Valley at the visitor center, is in the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" range.

Barbara---any idea what it is like up in Tuolumne Meadows? The webcam for there is not current--it shows June 27!

enzian, I wish I did, but I have no idea, sorry.

We'll be down there in two weeks. Last year the smoke from the Santa Barbara fires reached clear up to Tuolumne, and we cut our planned camping trip short because of it. I'm just hoping that doesn't happen again this year!
