Wilderness Lodge in WDW

We are planning to stay at the Wilderness Lodge in WDW. I would appreciate any opinion about this hotel. Thank you very much in advance

I have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and it was great. However, since I am from the Pacific Northwest it was'nt what I wanted for a Florida vacation. Too much like home. Pine trees, totem poles and a very western motif. They even have an ole faithful. The service and resort are typical of Disney service, Great. Have a great time.

I have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge on two occasions. The highlight of the hotel is the lobby -
great huge open space with huge totem pole and fireplace and a stream running through it. Everynight for kids, different animals are brought in by a wildlife expert-kids and adults love it. One restaurant serves it food family style with the food placed on a lazy susan in the middle of the table. The other restaurant is more upscale with a character breakfast in the morning. The pool areas are nice with a geyser going off every 15 minutes.

My husband and I were married last november at the Yacht Club Gazebo, however, we had our rehersal
dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the wilderness lodge. Although half of our party of 15 were late, the kids were cranky and we were the last
group left in the restaurant well after closing, the staff took every opportunity to make it a fun and enjoyable evening for everyone! The kids even had a good time amoungst all the wedding fuss. My sister was married at the Wilderness lodge on a balcony overlooking the geyser and bay lake.Keep your eyes open for these out of the way balconies with wonderfully beautiful and romantic views. We ate at Artist Point for her rehersal dinner and found it a little stuffy - not the place for children. Wilderness Lodge somehow pulls off eligance along with rustic relaxation.

We stayed at the Lodge and it is one of or favorite Disney resorts(we have stayed at virtually all Disney resorts). The location is great for access to the Magic Kingdom, Artist's Point restaurant was fantastic. The lobby is tremendous, and the pool area is very nice. You chose a great spot.

i agree, a beautiful hotel. rent bikes behind the hotel and ride the trails through the woods by the campground. "sneak" over to the pool at the beach and yacht club resort. its easily a half day's worth of entertainment. it has a beach, a kid area, an outstanding water slide, innertube rentals to float along with the circular tide, a "whirlpool" a coupl of waterfalls, and more.
