Wild Vegas Trip with Crazy Friends

We are sick of winter...coming to Vegas with 3 other couples the end of February. We have never traveled before with 8 people, but the girls in the group have all been close friends for many years! Does anyone have any suggestions on what fun things we could do with a group this size?? Any hints on avoiding conflicts?? We are a little on the wild side and like fun....so we are open to any suggestions! Also open to things we cannot do in the midwest...hehe Most of us have been to Vegas at least once or twice...some more....Appreciate any suggestions!

...one more thing...We have been reading many of the Vegas websites and message boards...and there is so much great info out there...just wondering if anyone has any great "group suggestions" for us...

We are all in our early 40's or so.....I'm not sure if there are any dancers in the group...I'll find out!!

ummm Jan 16th, 2001 06:15 PM

hey lily,
you weren't referring to dancing, were you? :))

Think about it Dorothy.

While the ladies go to a spa, the guys could make a trip to the Mustang Ranch.

Thanks for the great suggestions! ( I don't know if we have any horseback riders in the group either..but I'll ask..a ranch sounds fun!...j/k)

We're also going to Vegas in mid February with a bunch of crazy friends. Besides the obvious golfing for men and spa treatments for women, we are having lots of good wine and champagne in restaurants and seeing Tom Jones (what a hoot) to boot. Go to the Voodoo Lounge on the top of the Rio, or Club Rio for a great time.

'Swinging' probably wasn't referring to dancing.
Lots of riding going on at the Mustang Ranch, but not horses.
Maybe your crowd isn't as crazy as you thought.

It sounds like you will have a great time just being with the right friends!
The Rio is a riot...be sure to check that out!!!You can lead a horse to water.....but you can't make him swing!

Working-Girl Jan 19th, 2001 02:50 PM

Dot knew EXACTLY what "swingers" and "mustang ranch" referred to; I can't believe the rest of you didn't pick up on her great sense of humor and wit!
Dot, there's some real dull blades coming at ya -- watch out.

My husband (being the sweet man that he is), granted my wish for my 40th birthday. My wish was for him to invite my 3 sisters and 1 brother to Vegas along with us, and pay for their airplane fare and lodging. He took it 2 steps further: he invited their husbands and my brother's girlfriend along too, and also took us all out to dinner as well. It was a 3 night deal, and we had a BALL. The first night, I partied with my sisters while the guys went on their own deal. We just hung out at the hotel and drank good wine and danced to the great music within one of the hotels. I forgot the name of the hotel, but I could tell you when I remember it... we had dinner in this hotel too... it was really good. My sibs have never been to Vegas. They don't have money to gamble so were never interested, but I really wanted them to go for the creativity of the hotels there-all the themes-they loved visting all the hotels, NY NY, Cesears Palace (sp). Unfortunately they liked too much the serpentine pool at our hotel! It was like a lazy river, and I wanted them to get out from it and tour more, but they were dead set on hanging out in the sun. We went in April. I told them you can sit by a pool anytime! We're in VEGAS! But, it was on use, and heck, it was kindof nice... IF you want any more info or advice, feel free to email me or even my siblings who would be happy, I am sure, to give you their side! Maybe their memory is better than mine. Is this what the 40's are all about? Yikes!

If you haven't already planned this....make sure one of your rooms is a suite! We did this with a group......hit the liquor store..and we had our PARTY room!!! We had a ball checking out the casinos...but all enjoyed just being with friends! Have fun!

Vegas is GREAT !!! We go twice a year ! We took a group of friends last year. We rented a 10 pass. van and had a great time. We were able to keep everyone together this way and see everything. Be sure to get downtown if you are staying on the strip. It is a great place to party. Also, check out the "beach" it is a nightclub that opens about 10:00 pm. Ladies night was FUN !!! Hit the RIO it is always a good time. Wander the strip and take in the free shows outside the hotels.
We arrived home from Vegas 2 days ago. Just as much fun as the first time !! The Aladdin gives away 1,000 .00 each night at 7:00 pm durring february. You need to sign up for the players club card but hey, it's free!! They put on a good show at the club upstairs there also. That is where they give away the $$$$. You didn't mention where you will be staying but Treasure Island is our favorite. If you get a suite, request one in the front of the hotel You can watch the Pirate Show from your room!
Have a GREAT TIME !! I'm already looking forward to going back !
Cindy

Need some advice.....Considering bringing golf clubs to golf a couple of times....does anyone know if there is a reasonable course for renting clubs...or should we haul our own? ...just thinking about space....appreciate any suggestions on courses that are not sky high priced!
