Can anyone tell me how they liked this hotel? Any tips on fun things to do or things you must do when in Hawii?

Just a couple of years ago this hotel I believe was the Hawaiian Regent. At that time they were refurbishing. Just keep in mind that this hotel is across the street from the beach and it is right on Kalakauwa Ave. We stayed at the Hyatt right on Kalakauwa and hated it. It was so noisy and all you could hear was traffic and sirens if you sat out on your balcony. We are going back in September and opted to stay at the Kahala Mandarin for some peace and quiet. We wanted to see Oahu again, but not be on the busiest part of Waikiki. Anything from the pink palace down to Hilton Hawaiian Village is very Quiet.
