Found a good buy..are these too close to the stage..partially blocked view of back of the stage. I heard this is a big theater.What do you all think?

I know Wicked is playing in both Chicago and NYC right now, in addition to a traveling group. Where will you be seeing it?

It sounds like at least 30 rows from the stage--too far for me. A-Z + AA, BB, CC, DD, EE

Some theaters put the double-letter rows in front of the single letter ones. I'd assume this one does, since jserv asked if it was too close, rather than too far.

It is in New York. The theatre says its in the front by their seating chart about 5rowss back. Theatre also says its porr visiblity?? Not sure its a good deal or not..really want to see the show, but there will be four of us! gets expensive :(

THE THEATER IS RIGHT. ACCORDING TO MY OLD SEATING CHART, ROW EE IS THE 4TH ROW (THERE IS NO AA). THE LAST ROW IS ZZ, WHICH FOLLOWS ROW Z.

PARTIAL VIEW PROBABLY MEANS THAT YOU WON'T SEE SOME OF THE SETS AND ACTION ON ONE SIDE OF THE STAGE--TOWARD THE BACK.

IF I WERE SHOPPING FOR TICKETS, I WOULD RATHER SIT CLOSE TO GET A GOOD VIEW OF THE ACTORS AND SACRIFICE A BIT OF THE STAGE THAN SIT FAR FROM THE STAGE.

And my preference would be to sit further back and sacrifice the up-close view of the actors to see the entire action. But, different strokes for different folks. :)

I would not likely buy obstructed view tickets to a show, but can't say I never would.

If you cannot afford to pay for higher priced tickets for your group, then you could either see a different show or get these obstructed view seats. Tough call, but only you can know how important it is for your group to see this particular show, or how they'll feel if they miss out on some minor action on the stage.

I checked the seating chart and it is 5 rows back. The seats are to the side. I've seen Wicked twice recently (staged elsewhere) and all the main action takes place center stage. I can't imagine anything important you would miss by blockage at the sides.

I sat four rows back on the right for a matinee, and about 12 rows back on the left for an evening show. (Far left). Was able to get different perspectives of certain scenes - but again both were good seats.

Go for it. GREAT show. Good seats. Worth the expense IMHO! :-)

I would rather sit in the center of row 8-10; however, if the choice is between row 4 and row 34, I'll take row 4.

Why? I'd rather have a great view of 90% of the action that an inferior view of 100% of the action.
