Why No Good Eat's in Phoenix or Tucson??

I asked about recommendations of moderate ($25-$35/person) excluding tip, places to eat-barbeque, fusion (pacific-rim), continental, steaks and/or others in either city several days ago. I used to enjoy Roxsands but it closed after many years, I understand. HELP!!

You might want to try chowhound.com. If you don't see anything, try posting a query.

If you go to Epicurious.com and click on restaurants, you'll find a listing of best restaurants by city. When we were in Scottsdale about 18 months ago, we went to two or three of those listed under Phoenix and had wonderful dinners. My only concern is that Roxsand is still listed there, and you say it has closed.

Sorry, I missed your original post. I was in Phoenix for a convention and fell in love with Sam's Cafe. It's in the little shopping center that has a Hooters, within walking distance of the convention center and downtown Hyatt. They specialize in southwest. Other people said they enjoyed the Italian restaurant in the same shopping center. Sam's was recommended by the shuttle driver, we might not have found it otherwise.

We love Roys. Might be more than one in the city. The one where we ate was in the JW Marriott where we were staying. Awesome food. We also tried RA, a sushi bar in Kierland Commons and there is another seafood place there that many were excited about.

We also just ate at a rather small Italian chain called Maggiano's. That is also in Scottsdale and very good food, beautiful place. Fun, very busy, make reservations.

We also loved Roxsands and would drive many miles to eat there. Such a bummer that they closed. For true foodies, it was a wonderful experience. Ah well, it happens to the best of them.

Do some more searching, there is GREAT food in PHX.

Z Tejas in Tempe is yummy. They have delicious Mango Margaritas, mushroom enchiladas and more.

Also, check out El Paso BBQ in Scottsdale.

Both of these places are reasonably priced and for casual dress.

Don't know much about either, but had a nice dinner at The Oven in Tucson... pizza, pasta, reasonable, casual.
