Why do people post with someone elses name and e-mail?
Fodors is a very fine site, and it really is good that people can share their opinions, and disagree. There is much great information, better than any site, frankly. However, when I posted "my" opinion about Branson Missouri, someone took it upon themselves to post again using my name and e-mail. This only encourages people to use bogus names and e-mail address. Any suggestions?

The potential for this has troubled me as well. I suggest that all who are concerned write to Fodor's and ask them to institiute a registration system.

For sites like Fodor's, registrations still won't entirely prevent bogus e-mail submissions. Might keep the frequency down some, though.

There are a lot of strange folks out there.
There's a reason why I haven't signed my real name and address to this posting: I was "punished" once after complaining about someone advertising on this site by getting spammed and much, much worse...and do I mean "much worse"! It's an unfortunate fact of life, I guess.

The spam problem is really serious. They get our names and addresses off of good sites like this, and then horrible things end up in our e-mail boxes.

How right you are Judy! The lowest of the low are the porno spammers. I truly loathe and detest them.

It helps to insert something into your email address like I and many other people do.

For info. on fighting spam go to www.junkbusters.com

I do not like having to use an alias and pnony e-amil but it is necessary to protect myself from spammers, hate mail and other unwanted e-mail messages. I have been burned before.
