Why can We Post about "Celeb Spottings but not MJ Verdict??
Ticks me off that fellow Fodorites want to talk about the MJ Verdict & the post gets deleted! Yet, some post about "Celebrity Spottings" hangs around. Admittedly, neither is "Travel" but we just want to talk to each other sometimes!
Fodor's Editors....Relaaaax...you have created this "Community of Fodorites"! And, as such every now & then something comes along that makes us want to hear what our fellow Fodorites are thinking. You shd not have deleted the post.
Interesting that the jury discounted "similar fact evidence" re: MJ (i.e., He has slept w/ many other young boys) but gave a lot of weight to the Accuser's mother's incident w/ JC Penny! They relied on "similar fact evidence" to discount her & challenge her credibility but did not use "similar fact evidence" to bolster the case against MJ.

je, what I mean is that technically neither is "Travel-Related" but one survives & the other is deleted immediately by Fodor's Editors. I probably shd have selected a "non-celebrity/non-travel related" thread for comparison.

wow - Was there another post besides the one posted by SeaUrchin? I just read SeaUrchin a few minutes ago, it was about #100 at that time. If there was another one, why do they pull one and not the other?

re the verdict:too damned bad he has been given carte blanche to go out and do it all over again.
Perhaps his next victims should consult priests prior to venturing to Mj's house. At least they will be compensated in years to come.
It's a sad, sad day when deviance such as child molestation gets so normalized. I feel sorry for the kids involved.

Hi, Lallie! Yes, the other post was mine. It was: "Fodor's Poll: Did The Jury Get It Right In The Michael Jackson Case?" & 18 fellow Fodorites in a very short time & then...Bam!!! Zap!!! It's Gone.....
So, did they get it right?

I think that verdict was correct, but that is just my opinion and I don't claim it to be fact. He definitely has issues (I think he is desperate to live his adult life as a child since he never had a childhood).
What baffles me, is why would any parent leave their child alone with him given the accusations (true or not) that have been public for year? I think he's innocent but I still wouldn't let my kids stay with him (I certainly don't know for sure and why risk your children's well being?).
I would not allow my children to TRAVEL to Neverland to spend time w/Michael Jackson even though I THINK he is innocent.

From Fodor's:
Please keep to the topic -- travel. ... We reserve the right to delete any post and disqualify any screen name for any reason.
How tough is it? If you want to discuss a non-travel topic, do it elsewhere.

Thanks for filling me in wow. I've seen lots of other things posted that I didn't consider travel. Sorry they pulled it. I heard one of the jurors on TV this morning saying that he felt Jackson was guilty, but it had not been proven beyond a reasonable doubt. I wonder how many other jurors felt that way. I couldn't believe the decision when I heard it!

Mucky: I join PamSF, yes, I don't have faith...
Snowrooster: count your blessings, you don't know what it means to be not just an emigrant family in this country, but with a terminally ill child. Not speaking English all I knew he was a famous singer. And if I'd have to sleep in a car I'd be happy my child is in a bed. That is, if I didn't know at the time who's bed.
