Why better Jersey Boy tix avail on Broadwaybox.com than Telecharge?
 

I've used Broadwaybox.com before for discounted seats but never full priced tickets without a discount code. Going to NYC next week with my BIL and he really wants to see Jersey Boys - I've been watching it for discounts but just double checked Telecharge and there are far fewer seats available at much different prices - is broadwaybox.com OK to buy regular seats from? Where are these seats coming from? Thanks!

I can't figure out what you're saying. Yes, it is OK to buy tickets from Broadway Box. They will be resale seats, but I've never seen them there for less than face value at the box office. Perhaps you're looking at premium seats from Telecharge, but rear mezzanine from Broadway Box? In that case of course the tickets would be cheaper from Broadway Box, but not cheaper than those same seats would be from Telecharge.

Hi Patrick - it is odd, I realize. For example - for June 8th broadwaybox.com shows 67 seats available ranging in price from $55 to $115. Telecharge has seats at the two prices (ex premium) of $122 and $62 (maybe another level at at $97)

Almost all the seats available on broadway box.com for the June 8th performance are in the rear mezzanine - there are a very few seats in the orchestra, and a few in the center of the mezzanine. On the other hand, Telecharge has NO seats available in the rear mezzanine. So that's the reason for the difference in cost, I would suspect.

As the date draws closer, the resellers prices often go down.

As a matter of principal, I never, ever, purchase tickets from resellers.

Not really good fortune, Elizabeth, as I see it. Broadway Box has "cheaper and worse" seats available than Telecharge does so of course they are cheaper than the "better, more expensive" seats that Telecharge still has. For those who don't care how far back and to the sides they sit, I guess it's good fortune, but also simply a logical "you get what you pay for" situation.

Bought the orchestra seats from Telecharge at full price - up until now I had only used broadwaybox.com for discounted tickets and had always been kicked over to telecharge for the actual purchase - didn't realize bb.com also resold tickets. Would rather have the best available seats for my BIL's first Broadway experience (and I just won't think about the fact that the best seats for the Toronto Jersey Boys production tickets can be had for $50 CDN)
