We end up going to Florida for a little break every year. We fly into Orlando and rent a car to drive to the coast, staying in the Cocoa Beach-Melbourne area. This is just about relaxing by sea and not really trying to find any particular activities, but there are plenty of nice, reasonable restaurants and it is a nice change of environment for us because we don't live near the ocean. It's also not very expensive.

We have a timeshare in Orlando, usually use it every year for past 4 years. We mostly do WDW, universal, SeaWorld, and have done Discovery Cove twice. We also do a day trip to some area we haven't been before - last year it was Space Center, before that it was Winter Haven museums, Blue Spring state park, or some other smaller attractions or parks.

We go twice a year and every winter pick a different location near or on the gulf side and then in sept we go to navarre in the panhandle, love it there sept is a great time to go low prices and nothing but peace and quiet.. Been to Longboat key in June 3 times and also liked it.. But my favorite is Navarre.. We just got back from Orlando and really enjoyed that but did make a quick trip to st. pete to see the sunset.. long day trip for that but was worth it stopped in Tampa too, really nice area all around there.. Where do you like best ?

We go about once a month.
My sister and brother in law live in Miami and very close friends live in the Palm Beach area. Hobe Sound to be exact.
We also get to the keys at least once a year.
Being that we live on the southern part of the South Carolina coast, Jacksonville is only about 3 hours away.

We never went to Florida, well, when my son was about 7 we went to Sanibel but that is the extent of our Florida visiting.
So we just moved here instead LOL...
BTW-the weather the past few days has confirmed in our minds what a good decision it was

Florida travelers - do you like Fort Meyers Beach or Marco Island? Would like to take a trip and can't decide. Found 2 bedroom condos for 2 adults 2 teenagers in both areas. FMB isn't as expensive as Marco. But I want a nice beach with activities so the kids aren't bored just tanning! Your thoughts

FMB would be better for the kids .It is popular with the sping break kids now. The beach are nice and lots of stuff to do within walking distance. Marco is more upscale and isolated than Ft Myers beach.

I wouldn't miss our yearly trips to Key West. We usually go November, early December, before high season rates go into effect, but when it's already cold and grey here in the midwest. This year we're actually flying down on Thanksgiving Day. Jean

We have a timeshare so we go the second week of September to orlando. Its a great time to visit WDW and Universal ... no lines. We also go to Key West every April and stay in a condo in truman annex after the easter break when prices start to decline although this year we are go to Fort Lauderdale.

My family and I spend a week in Florida every summer. We rent a condo on Amelia Island. I have been to other places in Florida. (I only live 10 minutes from the GA/Fla line.) Of all of the vacations I have taken in Fla, I enjoy the weeks on Amelia best.

My cousin and I go to Englewood, FL every April (during our school break -- we're teachers)because our grandfather has a condo there. The beaches are nice and relaxing, and we enjoy visiting Port Charlotte and Venice. I have been many different times of the year, but April has had the most beautiful and perfect weather for the past 6 years!
