Who else thinks the new Format SUCKS????
This is terrible, too hard to navigate around...way too busy, way harder to read...TOO SLOW....and too much trouble to go in and out looking for posts to help people or glean information on things that may be of interest.
I doubt I will be spending much time on here anymore...just not worth the trouble. Too bad, it was a great site to pass the time and help others.

PS - AA big improvement would be at least to have a scroll bar on the left hand side to scroll through the posts without having to have the whole right hand side scroll too, and perhaps some deliniation between the postings.
Uhhgg!!

I do not like this new Format at all! It is very busy and I wish that it would return to the old format! What do you say Fodorites? Let's let the managers know that we would like to return to the old Format. Thanks.

LOL, Fodor's is NOT going to return to the old format Princess. Have you been on Fodor's say this last month? If so you should be aware of the reason why.

A little late to the dance there. There have been MANY threads and probably more than 1,000 posts about the changes (and there have been several changes/improvements since the initial roll out).
Go over to the Forums Help board and read some of the threads there - you'll learn lots of ways to make the forums work for you.
mark99: What can we say???
You haven't posted much of anything since the conversion - and only to say it sucks 2 or 3 times. The forums are more active than before -- so someone must like the new formats . . . . .

Well of course I will try to get used to it, and no I have not posted for two months....glad to see your keeping an eye on my comments) but there are issues I believe need to be addressed to make it easier and faster to use.
Anything this dramatic will take time, but any changes to software should be intuitively better than its predecessor.

Well, there is "This Sucks" and some other silliness over on the Caribbean forum . . . . . .
But it was posted tonight so maybe you just need to get w/ the program.

As I said on the other thread my only big pet peeve is that the Thread title and responce columns are not separate.....it just drives me nuts!!!
I am used to it now - but still too much white space.

I appreciate the feedback on all sides; while it is true that we're unable to bring the frames back, the structure that made it possible for the column to remain independent of the rest of the page, there may still be other ways to mimic that function. We're also taking another look at ways to improve the archives pages.

To everyone who wants the columns to scroll independently of each other (and I would love that feature), please remember that on most forums, once you click on a thread list, you can't see the thread list and the topic at the same time at all. I just checked TripAdvisor for example. Click on United States>New York, up comes the NY thread list. Click on a topic within that list and that's all you see - you have to go Back to see the thread list again.

Yeah . . but is was a nice feature here . . not a deal buster for me, just nice. As I said, overall the site is an improvement from the old one
