Whitefish to do

I'll be spending a few nights at the Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish Montana, before spending a few nights closer to Glacier National Park. I'll be solo - during the few days at Whitefish - what are some must-do's? I am wondering about Hot Springs.

We are going to the area for the first time this summer. We have done ziplinning before and loved it, so we are going to try Whitefish zipline. Danny on the Trail looks interesting there as well. They also have an Alpine Slide. Not sure, if any of those are of interest to you, but they sounded like something we mmight do before spending 4 days in Glacier.

Interesting architecture. There is a Frank Lloyd Wright office building, and the railroad station has amazing detail everywhere -- sort of north woods on top of art deco. Lots of craftsman style stuff around the edges of downtown.

I loved Whitefish, but the drivers were the worst I have ever encountered, including 20 years in Boston. They seem not to understand the meaning of stop signs. Trust no one, at least no one behind a wheel.

Thanks Ackislander - I also lived in Boston! Where is the Frank Lloyd Wright house?

It is actually a medical or law office. It will be in the local brochures or the tourist office can point you. I could drive you there, but I can't remember the street names!

Are you renting a car or depending on the hotel shuttles?
With a rental car you can drive around Flathead Lake. There was a fairly nice place to eat about 5 miles west of Whitefish-don't remember the name.
