White Fish / Kalispell MT in July: All sold out!

White Fish and Kalispell areas are booked solid for July and I don't know what to do. I'm looking for reasonably-priced accommodation for 8 people from July 22-25. It can be in a hotel or a vacation home. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Have you checked with the Meadow Lake Resort in Columbia Falls? They have a variety of rooms/condos. You might want to check on the Isaac Walton Lodge and then East Glacier. Good luck on finding a rental car.

I would get on cancellation lists. If you're visiting Glacier keep calling for cancellations. I think it's going to be difficult, though, especially for 8 people. I can find a few rentals when I search vrbo.

Can you book two separate condos, for example? I am seeing some availability at Whitefish Mountain, but the condos are $1,000/night that weekend.

I hate when we have soccer tournaments or weddings in the Flathead during the summer because it's incredibly expensive, and if we don't book by March, we may not be able to find anything. I'm looking for July 17th for the Under the Big Sky concert, but I'm not sure I can afford the prices. Good luck.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I'm not willing to spend $750 a night but thank you kindly for looking. Much appreciated!

You have eight people - at the very busiest time of year (other than the 4th of July). And this year even more so because everyone is looking for outdoor/rural vacations destinations. $750 is a lot, but its less than $100 pp per night so not all that outrageous. You may need to make other plans.

I'm afraid you may be right about making other plans.

One concern about staying at the Izaak Walton this year = road construction on Hwy 2 with expected backups.
I'd stay on the west side of Glacier this year.

If you are willing to go farther afield, there are a couple of motels in Cut Bank MT. My wife and I were the only people that got off the Empire Builder in Cut Bank that evening . We had a rental car waiting for us in the parking lot with the keys in the gas flap. The next morning we drove up to St.Mary and up from the east end of the GTTS.
FYI: the eastbound Empire Builder leaves Spokane at 1:25AM PT and arrives in Whitefish between 7:30 and 8AM Mountain Time. The Empire Builder does have a stop near the Isaac Walton Lodge (Essex) and hotel staff meet the train for the guests.

Thanks, everyone! I do need to be in the vicinity of Whitefish but we're looking at Kalispell properties now.

Thanks again!

If you are open to leaving your search area, here's a possibility. It's a drive from here to the highlight of the park, the Manyglacier area, but probably a shorter drive time-wise than from Whitefish or Kalispell which would require driving the Going to the Sun Hwy or Hwy 2 over the continental divide to the east side of the park.

Of course your trip may not be about visiting the park at all.

Cute cabin but 2 bedrooms and 1 bath for 8 people?? I would have to pitch a tent outside. Too much togetherness for me
