White Elephant - Nantucket
Hi! We're very familiar with Nantucket and usually rent houses, but we're going for a long weekend for our anniversary in June, and will be staying at the White Elephant.
Question, should we stay in a king harborside room (not suite, too pricy) or a queen one bedroom cottage? The cottage doesn't have views but is larger with a seating area and fireplace, it's $25 more. The room doesn't appear to have a seating area, has views (although in photos it looks like trees are in the way?), no fireplace. Has anyone stayed in the cottages and or rooms who can help me decide? Thank you! |

I think you should go for the room with the view. I've stayed in a king room and a king suite and both were lovely--recently updated and tastefully decorated; it's so nice to wake up to that view in the morning. I have not seen the cottages but a friend stayed in one last June and reported back that they were not as nice as she would have expected, and a bit run-down.

I miss the pool at White Elephant. They filled it in. Now we prefer the Woof Cottages at Nantucket Boat Basin. Their non dog friendly accomadations are on the wharf and just fantastic. do a google

Take the view.

Thanks sistalou, I know we'll go to our old favorite, American Seasons one night, then Company of the Cauldron and we'll see who snagged a good chef this season for the rest..
