Which would be better....Jackson or Teton Village lodging?
I have already secured 3-day lodging in Jackson at The Lexington At Jackson Hole for our trip in August, but have recently seen luxury 4 star accomodations in Teton Village (Hotel Terra) for basically the same price. Am I better off sticking with the Lexington for the convenience of being right in Jackson or should I change our reservations for more luxury in Teton Village. It's hard to know when you haven't been there and don't know what the positives/negatives are for each location. Would love some input for those who have spent time in the area.
Thanks much! |
I'd keep what you have. The allure of Teton Village is in the winter, when you can ski-in and ski-out, and be right at the slopes when the lifts open at 9.
In the summer, it is all about being in Jackson. You'll be near restaurants and activities, and you can always head over to the Village once or twice. Definately take a lift up and hike back down. http://www.familyskihub.com |
Cargillman - Thanks, I really appreciate your response. It's exactly the kind of direction I was looking for and suspected Jackson was the better choice in the summer. Now I can relax and do some reading on history of the area:-)
Counting the days now.....about 20...can't wait! |
I second cargillman's advice. In summer, you want to be in Jackson.

Definitely stay in Jackson during the summer. I stayed there 4 years ago and it was wonderful. Have a great trip!
