Which view at Ventana Canyon Resort

Hi. I just reserved a premium king room with balcony at this resort. I wasn't sure if I should go with a city or mountain view. Can anyone tell me what they feel is more desirable? The reservation person talked me into city view but I have plenty of time to change this since I'm going in February. Thanks!

I would go for the city view also. the twinkling lights of the city are very pretty, and at night you can't see the mountains!:)

We've had both. We are nature lovers and prefer the mountain view on the ground floor. Your deck butts right up to the outside (this hotel does a beautiful job of having their grounds as wild as possible, we went looking for rattlesnakes one night with a flashlight and saw two!) and you can watch for birds and lizards. The city view is over the parking lot, which really isn't a problem because you are up high. City view is nice for watching lightning storms over Tucson! We love this place.

Wow! Thanks guys. I have to think about this because you both make wonderful points. I guess I have to think about what time of day we're most likey to sit on the balcony. Any thoughts on ways to get price breaks on this hotel? The price is killing me. Thanks for the feedback!

Can you go in summer instead? They are el cheapo from Memorial Day to Labor day, we paid around $99 the last two Labor day weekends. It's not all that hot, I think the highs were about 100, 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix. The hotel sort of faces south in a V shape, on one trip we had a room where the afternoon sun came in the patio door, a bit too warm, but on another trip we faced the other way.
