Which USA spa is the most luxurious?
 

If you could spend any amount of money, which spa (for women) would you say is the best/most luxurious in the USA? What makes it so special? The ability to play golf would be a plus, but not necessary. Let me hear what you suggest! Thanks

The only one I have been to is Canyon Ranch and it is very luxurious and has a wonderful level of personal service without any pretense. Food is great, too.

Golden Door. Oprah has talked about it on her show. I don't know if it has golf.

There is no question about the best of all--It's the Homestead in Virginia. It has all you want, plus more, on beautiful grounds surrounded by mountains and with a natural warm spring bubbling up at a comfy 98 degrees F. The spa is glorious. Golf, hiking, horseback riding, even falconry, are offered.

Canyon Ranch and Golden Door are great. No question.

However, the Mobil Travel Guide awarded its only 5-diamond rating to Spa Montage, at the Montage Resort in south Laguna Beach. The setting-- on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific-- is breathtaking. There's plenty of nearby golf, but if you have a lot of money to spend (rack rates start at about $600 a night), this is the place. And the resort's restaurants are world-class.
