Which sunset sail boat to take in Key West?

Trying to pick which one would be the best for us. Looking for something on a smaler side with no loud music, not really a party crowd, kind of more upscale rather then a booze-cruise. So far looks like may be Floridays or Wind and Wine by Danger Charters will be the best for us.Anything else comes to mind? Thanks!

We've done Floridays, and it was everything you want...and nothing you didn't want. Terrific crew and lovely cruise, very laid back. There was as much liquor as you wanted..or as we wanted, but at least at the time we did it, all the tourist mates were very cool about it. We had a great time. We have our own sailboat in St Pete, and there is nothing nicer than a serene sail, no motor, to enjoy a sunset. Floridays was that.

I've neer heard any bad comments about either of these. If you are just looking for a quiet sunset sail with drinks go with the Floridays. If you are looking for a little bit more, go with Danger.

For what it's worth, we just did Danger's all-day snorkeling/kayaking outing, and it was a first-rate experience in every respect. I'm pretty sure that they use the same boat and crew for the sunset cruise, as well. If they are anywhere near as friendly and professional as they were for the day outing, you'll have a great time.

Thanks alot everybody. I think for a price difference we will go with Floridays.Should I reserve it now or wait till we get there? I would prefer to wait to make sure the weather would be nice. But then again, it is a high season. Leaving in 2 days!

I, too, love Floridays, but I suggest you get to Key West before reserving spaces.

I do both the Danger Charters and Sebago Island T'Ing each trip to Key West. Both are all day trips with breakfast, snorkel, lunch, kayaking and a few surprises, esp if you get Capt'n Dave on Sebago. They don't leave too early in the morning (9:30 boarding) and get back just in time for happy hour. Danger Charters has two small sail boats, Danger and Danger's Prize and also does a 1/2 day trip with less food. Sebago goes out with a bigger catamaran and if this looks interesting, plan ahead as they only go out 3 times / week and limits the trip to 40 people. Danger's limit is 20.

For the Floridays, call when you get to Key West. They don't tend to fill up but they do tend to get chartered for the day by weddings, etc. Just walk over to the Hyatt one morning before 9:20 or between 1:00 and 2:00 in the afternoon.

Both companies, Floridays AND Danger Charters offer wonderful sunset sails with great captains & crew, on beautiful sailboats!
With Danger Charers you are served eight wonderful wines, various premium beers, a cheese & crackers platter, a deli platter & a dessert cheese. I think they have the absolute best drinks & food of any of the sunset sails, & a great crew on their beautiful 65' sailboat.
Floridays has a nice sailboat & crew. However, I think it would be a lot better if they upgraded their wine & champagne to better quality libations. They do NOT serve food. The reason Danger Charters costs more, is the high quality of the drinks & they serve delicious finger food! You get what you pay for!
You can email me if you'd like me to reserve either one for you! I'm happy to do this for you & give you directions, & answer any other questions about KW & activities
that you have!

By the way, Danger Charters takes ONLY up to 27 passengers. (The 20 passenger limit posted in Peter's reply to you, even tho he was very helpful, is incorrect.)

The 20 person limit refered to the all-day trip.

My wife and I have been on Floridays several times for sunset cruises. It has always been fun, professional, plenty of drinks (but no one out of line) and relaxing.

I would recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the sunset.
