San Diego or LA is probably too cool (not cold). We average daytime highs in the 60's but nightime lows in the mid 40's along the coast and the mid 30's inland. We sometimes get 80 degree weather in December in small stretches (2-3 days) but too hard to predict. I'd say the only place for sure is South Florida.

Last two years I have gone to my parents in Naples, Florida over Christmas and I have noticed on the nightly weather reports that either Naples or Miami have had the highest temps in the entire continental US during that week in both years. So there would be it... Mind you, being the warmest doesn't mean mid 80s, at times during those weeks it was still a tad chilly for the beach, mornings required a sweater. Last year there was just one day during that week that was *just* warm enough to have a good day out at the beach, although it was warm enough for the pool. But, that is the warmest you're going to get.

Good grief Truth, read the original question, nothing mentioned about above 80. My original post was truthful according to your statistics. Who could possibly predict the weather at any given time? Love being a winter texan from Ohio.
